Malting equipment
Equipment introduction:
Malting equipment is essential machinery used in the production of malt. Malt is a vital ingredient in the brewing, distilling, and baking industries as it provides the sugars necessary for fermentation, flavor, and color. It enables the process of converting barley into malt and ensures consistent quality every time.
Modern malting equipment offers significant advantages over traditional manual processes, including precision temperature control and automated operations that reduce labor costs and improve efficiency. The equipment is designed to manage the three key phases of malting: steeping, germination, and kilning.
During the steeping phase, the barley is soaked in water for a specified period. The steeping equipment must maintain the right temperature and humidity levels to enable the barley to absorb enough water for germination.
The germination phase follows immediately after the steeping phase. The barley is moved to the germination chamber, where it begins to sprout. At this stage, the equipment controls temperature, humidity, and airflow to ensure even growth and prevent the growth of mold or bacteria.
The final stage involves kilning, where the germinated barley is dried and roasted at varying temperatures. Kilning helps to develop the desired flavor and color characteristics in the malt. The equipment used in kilning must have precise temperature control to optimize the flavor and color of the malt.
In conclusion, malting equipment is a vital component in the production of high-quality malt. The machinery enhances efficiency, precision, and consistency in the malting process, making it possible to produce top-quality malt in large quantities. With the right equipment, malting can be a seamless and cost-effective process, resulting in exceptional malt that meets the demands of various industries.

Features:
Malting is the process of steeping, germinating and kilning grains. The Malt system uses a unique vertical design and is modular to grow with your operation. The steeping tank allows for complete control over timing and air applications before you sluice down to the germination and kilning vessel. Once in germination and kilning, you can adjust the system to create your perfect custom malt.
Progress:
There are three relatively simple steps in the brewing process, soaking, germinating and firing, but as any pub will tell you, there are many more supporting steps to ensure quality malt. The methods are different, but the goal is the same, and high-quality finished products are replicable and repeatable. The malting process begins by soaking the barley grains in a soaking container for 24-48 hours.
During this time, air is blown over the container (the steep wall), adding oxygen to the water and creating a washing effect.Sand, dirt and moldy kernels are washed away to form a clean product. In about 24 hours.Barley begins to germinate and the grain is transferred to the germination layer.
For seeds of any sort to sprout, a moist and warm environment is required. After the grains have been soaked they need to be rinsed and situated in a warm environment with light available to them,The modern techniques used in the malting, such as fan assisted aeration and cooling devices allow us excellent control over the malting process enabling a germination process of 5 to 6 days.
